In addition to her NHS work, Ms Athanasiadou also consults at Kat & Co, a leading private cosmetic and plastic surgery clinic in Birmingham.
Her training spans the UK and Europe, including prestigious fellowships in microsurgery (Ghent), facial reconstruction (Rotterdam), and skin oncology (Birmingham). She holds the FRCS (Plast) and is a Fellow of the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (EBOPRAS).
Ms Athanasiadou played a key role in establishing the Black Country Mohs Surgery Service and pioneered a same-day biopsy pathway for suspected skin cancers, which won first prize at the Royal Society of Medicine’s Patient Safety Meeting in 2022.
A passionate educator, she is a GMC-registered Educational Supervisor and member of the regional training committee for plastic surgery. She has authored numerous publications and remains actively involved in surgical teaching and training.
