RCG Health is a specialist private surgical practice led by consultant surgeon Mr Ricardo Camprodon, providing expert care in general, upper gastrointestinal (GI), hernia, and metabolic (weight-loss) surgery.
We combine advanced minimally invasive (laparoscopic) techniques with a genuinely patient-centred approach, helping you regain health, confidence, and quality of life.
Our multidisciplinary team also includes Ms M. Athanasiadou, consultant plastic surgeon, who performs aesthetic and reconstructive procedures at Kat & Co, Birmingham.

Do I need a GP referral to be seen at RCG Health?
No — you can self-refer for a private consultation, or your GP can refer you directly. We welcome both self-funded and insured patients, working with all major UK insurance providers.
What conditions does RCG Health treat?
We specialise in benign (non-cancerous) general and upper GI conditions, including:
- Gallstone disease and bile-duct stones (laparoscopic gallbladder removal and bile-duct exploration)
- Hernias – inguinal, umbilical, epigastric, ventral, and femoral
- Complex abdominal wall reconstruction for large or recurrent hernias
- Pilonidal disease and other soft-tissue conditions
- Acid reflux and upper GI functional disorders
