His journey in healthcare began with a degree in Biochemistry from the University of Kent, followed by a postgraduate qualification in Physician Associate Studies at the University of Birmingham in 2015. Now registered with the GMC, he brings over eight years of hands-on experience in clinical practice and quality improvement.
Throughout his career, Jonty has worked across multiple surgical specialties, including colorectal, upper GI, and urology, developing a wealth of expertise in managing surgical patients. At Russells Hall, he collaborates closely with surgeons across wards, clinics, and operating theatres, assisting in a wide range of procedures. These include complex laparoscopic surgeries such as para-oesophageal hernia repairs, completion cholecystectomies, and common bile duct explorations, as well as major open procedures like complex abdominal wall reconstructions and rare operations such as Roux-en-Y duodeno-jejunostomies for SMA syndrome. He also regularly assists with more routine procedures, including laparoscopic cholecystectomies, fundoplications, and both keyhole and open abdominal wall hernia repairs, as well as treatments for pilonidal disease.
